Newborn portraits! And doctor visit.

My friend Sarah came over on Sunday and took some newborn portraits of Ezra. They turned out really cute. It is a perk of having a friend with a photography degree who loves babies. A few favorites:

There is an album on Facebook with lots more, which you can access if you're Facebook friends with me. (And don't worry about the pictures in which he isn't wearing his oxygen... what you don't see in these is that when the cannula was off, we held another tube under his nose blowing oxygen and only removed it for a few seconds to take each picture. )

I took Ezra to the pediatrician for the second time on Monday. He was 8lb 2oz and 20.5" long. He is growing well. He's growing out of most of his newborn clothes, but doesn't really fit in 0-3 month clothes yet either. He also got his final 2-month immunization, for rotavirus. For some reason he didn't get that one in the NICU along with the others.
Wearing his first cloth diaper! And one of the few 0-3mo tops that fit him.
Unfortunately, Ezra isn't ready to wean down a level on his oxygen yet. He's on 1/8 liter now. The doctor's plan is to move him to 1/16, then room air during the day, then do a home sleep study on room air at night and when he's ready, take him off. We go back for another checkup in two weeks, so we'll see how he's doing then. The doctor told me he thought it would probably be several more weeks (as in, a couple months) - which we were expecting anyway. Ezra's lungs are just not very strong.
Another newborn picture... just a baby and his tubes.
Plenty more doctor's appointments coming up - audiology, cardiology, hematology, and his second RSV shot all in the next week.
