We did it! We made the road trip to Kansas City for the Goertz family New Year's celebration. I am so glad we did it. We were incredibly nervous about everything - mostly the long days of driving with an infant and exposure to lots of people and therefore germs.
The drive was long (each way required about 2 1/2 hours of stop time thanks to Ezra) but went relatively well... not too much fussing. Ezra did sleep too much on the way to KC and then had no interest in sleeping that night, but on the way back he stayed awake more. And the few sick people kept their distance from Ezra.
The best thing about the trip? Ezra got to meet a lot of his relatives for the first time!

Seeing Grandma Helen again; meeting Grandpa Bob, Uncle Dalton, and Aunt Grace. Somehow I failed to take a picture of Ezra with Uncle Nicholas. |
It was nice to see my family and a few friends, eat jambalaya and zwieback, see Nicholas & Leah's house and see my parents' house all decorated and unpacked. It's also nice to be back home.
