At 9 months (7 months adjusted), Ezra is 16lb 6oz and 27" long by home measurements. According to my measurements, he's grown 2 inches this month! I actually might believe it, too. Percentiles are:
- Height: 38th %ile for adjusted age; 6.7th %ile for actual age
- Weight: 16th %ile for adjusted age; 5.5th %ile for actual age
He wears 9 month or 6-12 month clothes, and we haven't changed the settings on his diapers this month.
As you can see, he is starting to be able to sit up on his own!
This month, Ezra started eating a little bit of solid food. He has tried sweet potatoes (his first food), whole grain breakfast crackers, watermelon, and lettuce leaves (which he thinks are gross, but he grabs them off my plate).
He also learned to get his foot into his mouth:
In addition to possibly growing two inches, Ezra's two bottom teeth from last month finished coming in, and right now he is getting the four top incisors. Poor little guy! He is understandably grumpy this week.
The biggest milestone this month has been mobility. He doesn't lift his belly off the ground, but he can army-crawl and roll around quite effectively, if a little slowly. His favorite things to visit include the trash can, the back of the TV, the internet cable, shoes, and the edge of the bed. This development made this month's photo shoot interesting:
Favorite toys these days include teethers, indestructible books, and anything potentially dangerous. We took him to an indoor pool this month and he loved it! He was very happy to kick his little legs in the water and touch the fountains in the kiddie pool.
Ezra started recognizing his name this month (we admit, it took some effort on our parts to actually use his name more, instead of his myriad nicknames, so he could learn it). He will turn to look at someone who says his name.

I knew this would be coming soon and have been looking forward to it! :) I hear you on the whole "using his name instead of nicknames" thing. I've been trying to do that more...
ReplyDeleteCan't believe how big he's getting. Also, I totally love that you stuck the sticker on his bum. :)
