I'm a few days late in posting, but Ezra turned 7 months old on April 16th.
By home measurements, he is 14.6lb and 25" long. He blew through 3-6m clothes already, and some of the 6m clothes are a little small on him! I put him in 6-9m pajamas for the first time last night. He finally seems to be growing hair again after a rather long hiatus. Still looks pretty bald though. His hair is brown. His eyes are still bright blue... maybe they will stay blue!
This month has been big for development. Ezra rolls over almost anytime he's on his back... and then gets frustrated by being on his belly. And forgets he can roll the other way. He can scoot forward, backward, or in circles though. Crawling can't be too far off... uh oh! He can sit with assistance and stand holding onto someone's hands. He also holds his own bottle (as long as it's not too heavy), has gained a lot of dexterity with manipulating objects, and has learned to turn on the crib soother. He also has learned to pull blankets over his head. May the worrying continue.
Socially, he has started to clearly prefer being held by a parent to anyone else. (However, he also likes interacting with other people more than in the past.) He looks to us for cues about how he should react to a surprising occurrence. He has become interested in books, and I read a book to him as part of a short bedtime routine (the same book every night - "Time for Bed" by Mem Fox).
Ezra's favorite toys this month include the plastic package baby wipes come in (the crinkling is fun), a stuffed bunny and soft jingly chew ball that Grandma Helen sent for Easter, and as always, his baby gym.
This month, we started to venture out and about with Ezra more. We have taken him to restaurants, church, and on his first flight! We went to Kansas City for the wedding of a lifelong friend. He did a great job! He slept the whole way there and most of the way back. And didn't get sick. We were some relieved parents.
