Asher turned two months old on May 20.
Weight: 11lb 13.8oz (41st percentile)
Height: 22.8" (58cm) (44th percentile)
Head Circumference: 15"(23rd percentile)
Clothing Size: He is kind of all over the place in clothing sizes. He still fits in 3m onesies and pants. 3-6 month or 6m sleepers. We've moved from newborn cloth diapers to one-size.
Milestones: Smiling, discovered hands, bats at and grabs toys
Daily Routine: Wakes up for the day around 7-8 a.m. Awake and alert for most of the morning, usually cat naps for part of it or sometimes will take a longer nap from about 9-11 if Ezra lets him sleep continuously. He mostly has himself on an eat-play-sleep cycle. Afternoon nap is around 2-4 p.m. (same as Ezra! Woohoo!) He'll then take a short nap from around 5-6 p.m. For most of this month, he's been fussy in the evening, but recently that seems to be stopping. I rock him to sleep around 8 or 8:30 p.m., which usually takes about half an hour. He has been sleeping a 6-hour stretch at the beginning of the night and many nights is only up to eat once around 3 a.m. About half the time he wakes up twice at night. Not bad at all!
Life Update:
Asher has discovered his arms. It's pretty funny to watch him extend an arm and stare in fascination at his hand. He also just this past week started enjoying the baby "gym," especially one particular toy. He can bat at toys and grab them.
He got his two month vaccines and did pretty well! No fever, just extra cuddly and sleepy and a little bit fussy for the rest of the day. His doctor thought it would be a good idea to do a follow-up renal ultrasound at the end of next month to make sure his kidneys recovered from his infection last month.
We also suspect Asher might have an upper lip tie - but it isn't adversely affecting breastfeeding (his latch isn't perfect, but it doesn't hurt me and he obviously is getting enough milk to gain weight just fine!), so we don't need to address it now. He can close his mouth all the way, so she didn't think it will affect his speech later. (I also have an upper lip tie, but mine did affect breastfeeding when I was a baby and I still have a gap that braces couldn't close.)
