This happy guy turned 8 months old today!
Weight: 17.6lb (home scale)
Height: TBD
Clothing Size: 12m, between 6-12 and 12-18
As the pictures demonstrate, Asher is all about pulling up to standing these days. He's been working hard on his pulling-up skills this month. If I'm sitting on the floor, he'll scoot over to me, climb onto my lap, and pull up to standing so he is at eye level and can give me a hug. He's also been working on climbing, and can easily get up 6-8" onto his belly. In the last few days, I've seen him crawl a few paces on hands and knees, but he mostly scoots super fast on his belly.
Asher LOVES bath time. He graduated from the infant tub to the regular tub this month. When he hears bath water running, he comes right over to see what's going on! He loves to splash and play with bath toys. We haven't really emphasized sitting up for him, so while he can hold the position briefly, he usually just rolls over and scoots away - meaning he won't sit in a bath either. So we run a very shallow bath and let him play with extremely close (hands on) supervision.
Asher isn't super clear with language yet, but we hear "mama" sometimes, and maybe "dada", and he signs "milk" when he wants to nurse. He makes lots of sounds - all vowels, b, d, g, h, m, and n. Maybe p? He loves to blow raspberries - raspberries of delight and raspberries of despair. (Or as Ezra says, "Asher's blowing on a raspberry!" - which is adorable.)
Favorite toys these days - other than any object he can climb - include a mirror, a jingly stuffed sock monkey dressed as an Easter bunny, the Green Toys firetruck, which is a pretty big truck he can move back and forth as well as move the ladder, Duplo truck bases (he likes to spin the wheels, and also chew on them); and basically everything else he can grasp and chew on.
Asher is still just a delightful baby who smiles easily and makes friends everywhere he goes.
(Also, his hair isn't as red in real life as it appears in some of these pictures - the ones below are more true to life.)
