Asher is 2

Happy second birthday to Asher!

This little guy is already so two.

Like he told me dinner was ready today.

And he has a hilariously sassy way of scrunching up his face and saying, "I want it."
(All italicized because all words are emphasized.)

And he'll bait you into saying "okay" to things because his little "oh-tay" is so cute you can't help but repeat it.

He really loves vehicles - tractors ("tatoo"), garbage trucks ("boppy tut"). trains.

He speaks in phrases and short sentences, but most of his speech wouldn't be clear to a stranger yet.

He builds things with Duplos - like fairly realistic looking vacuums, for instance.

Did I mention he LOVES vacuums?

Whenever we go to a store, we have to stop at the vacuum aisle to admire the vacuums.
And then he gets upset that we don't buy one.

In Asher's vocabulary, the noun "vacuum' is also the command "vacuum it!" ("da-doon-it!")

His love for vacuums is second only to his love for cats.

Like, it is a love that might actually convince us to get a cat sometime

Asher is definitely a cat person.

But he likes dogs too. Especially if they look like his cousin Jack's dog Finn.
All black labs are named Finn in Asher's world.

He calls going to bed a nap, and bids Daddy and Ezra goodnight with a "bye!"

When his hands are cold, he'll stick them in a parent's mouth so we can breathe on them.

He recognizes the Starbucks logo and asks for a cake pop every time.

He also loves donuts and fries
(oh, second child, you get so many more treats than your older brother did at this age).
But he also wolfs down salad and fish and likes flavorful sauces, so there's that.

He prefers to wear boots.

When shoes come off, socks must also come off.

He is very good at jumping.

He likes to go for walks - or runs - through the neighborhood.

He is usually waiting excitedly at the front window for Ezra to come home from preschool.

He is delightful.

Happy birthday, Asher!
